Introduction
The TMP411 is a remote temperature sensor monitor with a built-in local temperature sensor. The diode-connected transistor used as a remote temperature sensor is typically a low-cost NPN or PNP transistor or diode, which is an integral component of microcontrollers, microprocessors, or FPGAs. Remote accuracy of ±1℃ is achieved across multiple device manufacturers without calibration. The two-wire serial interface accepts SMBus write byte, read byte, send byte, and receive byte commands for programming alert thresholds and reading temperature data. Features included in the TMP411 are: series resistance cancellation, programmable non-ideality factor, programmable resolution, programmable threshold limits, user-defined offset registers for maximum accuracy, minimum and maximum temperature monitors, wide remote temperature measurement range (up to 150℃), diode fault detection, and temperature alarm functionality. The TMP411 is available in VSSOP-8 and SOIC-8 packages.
