Introduction
The BQ296xxx series is a high-precision, low-power overvoltage protector with a regulated output power supply of 2 mA suitable for lithium-ion battery pack applications. This device can individually monitor the overvoltage condition of each cell in a 2 - 4 cell series battery pack. When an overvoltage condition is detected on any cell, an internal fixed-delay timer is activated. After the delay timer expires, the output pin is triggered to an active state to indicate an overvoltage condition. The regulated output power supply can provide a maximum output current of 2 mA (max) to drive always-on circuits, such as a real-time clock (RTC) oscillator. The BQ296xxx series has a self-disable function that can turn off the regulated output when the voltage of any cell is below a specific threshold, thereby preventing battery depletion. The device can also enable or disable the regulated output through external control.
Features
- 2-cell, 3-cell, and 4-cell series battery OVP
- Fixed delay timer for FET drive output triggering (4 options: 3s, 4s, 5.5s, or 6.5s)
