Introduction
The TPS795 series low-dropout (LDO) low-power linear regulators feature high PSRR, ultra-low noise, fast start-up capability, and excellent line and load transient response, housed in compact 6-pin SOT-223 and 3mm×3mm VSON packages. Each device in the series achieves stable operation with a small 1μF ceramic output capacitor. Manufactured using an advanced proprietary BiCMOS process, the series delivers ultra-low dropout voltage (e.g., 110mV at 500mA). Each device achieves fast start-up time (approximately 50μs with a 0.001μF bypass capacitor) while consuming very low quiescent current (265μA typical). Furthermore, when the device enters standby mode, supply current is reduced to below 1μA. At a 3V output with a 0.1μF bypass capacitor, the TPS79530 output voltage noise is approximately 33μV_RMS. Applications employing noise-sensitive analog components — such as portable RF electronics — will benefit from the high PSRR, low noise characteristics, and fast response time.
