Introduction
FM116C is an IC designed specifically for driving small-current DC motors, housed in a SOT23-6 miniature package, making it an ideal choice for space-sensitive system designs. The circuit adopts an H-bridge topology with integrated power MOSFET switches, enabling four control functions for the DC motor load: forward rotation, reverse rotation, braking, and standby. The braking function enables rapid motor stopping, while the standby function reduces static power consumption to an extremely low level (less than 1uA). The circuit integrates low-resistance power MOSFET switches. At a load current of 300mA, the voltage drop across the circuit is 500mV with a power dissipation of 150mW — within the allowable range of the SOT23-6 package — allowing continuous long-term operation. FM116C integrates a thermal shutdown protection function (TSD) with hysteresis. At 27°C and VDD = 4V, the maximum continuous output current of FM116C is 600mA. Due to the thermal dissipation limitations of the package, the maximum continuous output current must be appropriately reduced as ambient temperature rises.
