Introduction
MT6826S is a new-generation high-speed, high-precision angle encoder IC based on advanced Anisotropic Magnetoresistance (AMR) technology. The chip integrates two pairs of AMR Wheatstone bridges oriented at 45° to each other as the sensing elements, along with a high-performance dedicated signal processing circuit. Since AMR devices operate in the saturation region when used for angle measurement applications (saturation field: 300 Gauss), the chip responds only to changes in the direction of the magnetic field parallel to the chip surface during operation, independent of field strength. As a result, MT6826S imposes relatively relaxed requirements on magnet machining tolerances and magnet-to-chip mounting distance errors.
MT6826S provides incremental ABZ output interface as a drop-in replacement for traditional photoelectric encoders, with a maximum incremental output resolution of 4,096 pulses/revolution or 16,384 steps/revolution. MT6826S also provides incremental UVW output, supporting 1~16 pole pairs/revolution.
MT6826S provides a 4-wire SPI interface for host controllers or MCUs to read the internal 15-bit absolute angle value. A single-wire PWM output is also available, providing absolute angle data at 12-bit resolution.
The key performance enhancement of MT6826S lies in its user-friendly self-calibration mode, which compensates for various nonlinearities caused by magnet imperfections and mechanical mounting deviations, thereby significantly improving INL characteristics.
