The DAC7811 is a CMOS 12-bit current-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC). The device is powered by a 2.7V to 5.5V power supply, which makes it well-suited for battery-powered applications and many other applications. This DAC uses a dual-buffered 3-wire serial interface compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and most DSP interface standards. Additionally, when using multiple devices, daisy-chaining can be achieved through the serial data output pin (SDO). With the data read-back function, users can read the contents of the DAC registers via the SDO pin. Once powered on, the internal shift register and latches are filled with zeros, and the DAC output will be at zero scale. The DAC7811 offers excellent four-quadrant multiplication characteristics and a large-signal multiplication bandwidth of 10MHz. The applied external reference input voltage (VREF) determines the full-scale output current. When used in conjunction with an external current-to-voltage precision amplifier, the integrated feedback resistor (RFB) provides temperature tracking and full-scale voltage output. The DAC7811 is available in a 10-lead VSSOP package.
