Introduction
DAC53608 and DAC43608 (DACx3608) are 10-bit and 8-bit low-power, voltage-output, octal digital-to-analog converters (DACs), respectively. The DACx3608 is designed to be monotonic over a wide supply range of 1.8V to 5.5V. Using an external reference, the DACx3608 provides a full-scale output voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V while consuming 0.1mA of quiescent current per channel. The DACx3608 also includes per-channel, user-programmable power-down registers. These registers enable the DAC output buffers to power up in a powered-down-to-10K state and remain in that state until a power-up command is issued to the output buffers. The low quiescent current, wide supply range, and per-channel power-down options make the DACx3608 ideal for low-power, battery-operated systems. These devices communicate via an I²C interface, supporting I²C standard mode (100kbps), fast mode (400kbps), and fast-plus mode (1Mbps). These devices also feature a load DAC (LDAC) pin for simultaneous DAC updates. The DACx3608 is available in a compact 3mm×3mm 16-pin WQFN package. These devices are rated for an extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
