The ASL4501SHN is a highly integrated and flexible four-phase DC-DC boost converter IC with a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) for control and diagnostic communication with an external microcontroller. Primarily designed for automotive LED lighting applications, it provides an optimized supply voltage for ASLx41xSHN multi-channel LED buck drivers. It employs fixed-frequency peak current mode control with parabolic/nonlinear slope compensation, operates over an input voltage range of 5.5V to 40V, and can be configured via SPI for output voltages up to 80V. As a four-phase converter, it provides two independent outputs with flexible configuration options. It can drive up to four external low-side N-channel MOSFETs using an internal adjustable voltage regulator, supporting both logic-level and standard-level MOSFETs. The integrated SPI interface enables programming of supply undervoltage/overvoltage thresholds, output voltage range, and DC-DC switching frequency, while also providing diagnostic information such as driver temperature.
