Introduction
The LMH1297 is a 12G UHD - SDI 75Ω bidirectional I/O with an integrated clock recovery. This device can be configured as an adaptive cable equalizer in input mode or as a dual cable driver in output mode, allowing system designers to flexibly use a single BNC as an input or output port, thus simplifying UHD video hardware design. The integrated clock recovery can lock to all supported SMPTE data rates up to 11.88Gbps in both modes. This bidirectional I/O features on - chip 75Ω termination and return loss compensation network, meeting the strict SMPTE return loss requirements. An additional 75Ω driver output enables the LMH1297 to support various system functions. In EQ (equalizer) mode, this second 75Ω driver can be used as a loop - through output. In cable driver (CD) mode, this 75Ω driver can be used as a second fan - out cable driver. The host - side 100Ω driver can also be used as a loop - back output in CD mode for monitoring purposes. The on - chip clock recovery can attenuate high - frequency jitter and fully regenerate data using a clean, low - jitter clock. This clock recovery has a built - in loop filter and does not require any input reference clock. The LMH1297 also has an internal eye - opening monitor and programmable pins for CDR lock indication, input carrier detection, or hardware interrupts to support system diagnostics and board startup. It operates from a single 2.5V power supply.

- Automatic pre-emphasis and slew rate control on 75Ω output
- Polarity inversion on 75Ω and 100Ω outputs, power-down control via ENABLE pin
- 2.5V single supply
