The DS125BR111 is an ultra-low-power, high-performance repeater/translational driver designed to support a 1-channel high-speed interface of up to 12.5Gbps. At 6GHz, the continuous-time linear equalizer (CTLE) of the receiver can provide a gain of 3 - 10dB on each channel. When operating in SAS - 3 or PCIe Gen - 3 applications, the DS125BR111 preserves the transmitted signal characteristics, enabling the host controller and endpoints to negotiate the transmit equalizer coefficients. The transparency of the link negotiation protocol maximizes the flexibility of the physical layout of devices within the interconnect channel and improves the overall performance of the channel. The relevant programmable settings can be easily applied via pins, software (SMBus or I2C), or loaded from an external EEPROM. In EEPROM mode, the configuration information is automatically loaded upon power-up, eliminating the need for an external microcontroller or software driver.
