Introduction
The DS90UB960-Q1 is a versatile sensor hub that aggregates serial sensor data received from 4 independent video data streams via FPD-Link III interfaces. When paired with the DS90UB953-Q1 serializer, the DS90UB960-Q1 can receive data from sensors such as imagers capable of supporting full HD 1080p/2MP resolution at 60Hz frame rates. The received data is aggregated to a MIPI CSI-2 compliant output port interconnected with a downstream processor. The device also features a second MIPI CSI-2 output port, providing additional bandwidth or a secondary replicated output for data logging and parallel processing. The DS90UB960-Q1 integrates 4 FPD-Link III deserializers, each supporting connectivity over cost-effective 50Ω single-ended coaxial or 100Ω differential STP cables. The receive equalizer automatically adapts to compensate for cable loss characteristics, including degradation over time. Each FPD-Link III interface also includes a dedicated low-latency bidirectional control channel that continuously carries I2C, GPIO, and other control information. General-purpose I/O signals — such as those required for camera synchronization and diagnostic functions — also utilize this bidirectional control channel. The DS90UB960-Q1 is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications and is offered in a cost-effective, space-saving 64-pin VQFN package.
