Introduction
LMX2572 is a low-power, high-performance wideband synthesizer capable of generating any frequency from 12.5 MHz to 6.4 GHz without the use of an internal multiplier. This PLL delivers excellent performance with a current consumption of only 75 mA from a single 3.3 V supply.
For applications such as digital mobile radio (DMR) and wireless microphones, the LMX2572 supports FSK modulation. It supports both discrete-level FSK and pulse-shaping FSK. Discrete digital FSK modulation can be implemented via programming or pin control.
The LMX2572 allows users to synchronize the outputs of multiple devices and can support applications requiring a deterministic delay between input and output. The LMX2572 provides a precise phase adjustment option to address delay mismatches on the board or within the device. The frequency ramp generator can synthesize up to 2 ramp segments in either automatic ramp generation mode or manual mode for maximum flexibility. Through a fast calibration algorithm, users can change frequencies in less than 20 μs. The LMX2572 also supports generating or repeating SYSREF (compliant with JESD204B), making it an ideal low-power, low-noise clock source for high-speed data converter timing. Fine delay adjustment is available in this configuration to address delay variations across high-speed lines.
The LMX2572 integrates an LDO powered by a single 3.3 V supply, eliminating the need for an external on-board low-noise LDO.
