TPS2475x can provide highly integrated load protection for 2.5V to 18V applications. The device integrates a hot-swap controller and a power MOSFET in a single package suitable for small form factor applications. These devices protect the power supply, load, and internal MOSFET from potential damage events. During startup, the load current and MOSFET power dissipation are limited to user-selected values. After startup, currents exceeding the user-selected limit are allowed to flow until a set timeout is reached, except in extreme overload conditions where the load and power supply are directly disconnected. Programmable FET SOA protection ensures that the internal MOSFET always operates within its safe operating area (SOA), and the load starts at a defined ramp rate. This improves system stability while increasing the performance of the internal MOSFET. Power good, fault, and current monitoring outputs are provided for system status monitoring and downstream load control.
