The LM5069 positive-voltage hot-swap controller provides intelligent control for power connections during the insertion and removal of circuit boards from a live system backplane or other hot-swap power supplies. The LM5069 offers inrush current control to limit system voltage sags and transients. The current limit and power dissipation in an external series-pass N-channel MOSFET can be programmed to ensure its operation within the Safe Operating Area (SOA). A power-good output is indicated when the output voltage is less than 1.25V of the input voltage. The input under-voltage and over-voltage lockout levels and hysteresis, as well as the initial insertion delay time and fault-monitoring time, can all be programmed. After fault monitoring, the LM5069-1 latches, while the LM5069-2 automatically restarts with a fixed duty cycle. The LM5069 is available in a 10-pin VSSOP package.
