The TPS24700/1 are easy-to-use 2.5 V to 18 V hot-swap controllers that can drive external N-channel MOSFETs. Programmable current limit and fault time can prevent the power supply and load from being damaged by excessive current during startup. After startup, current exceeding the user-selected limit is allowed to pass until the set timeout is reached, except in the case of extreme overload where the load and power supply are directly disconnected. The 25 mV current sensing threshold has high accuracy, allowing the use of smaller sensing resistors with higher efficiency to reduce power consumption and shrink the footprint. A power-good output is provided for status monitoring and downstream load control. The TPS24700/1 can replace the LTC4211 in existing designs without the need for PCB updates and with minimal replacement of external components, enabling a high-precision and efficient solution.
