Introduction
The ADS1191/2 are multichannel, simultaneously sampling, 16-bit Δ-Σ ADC series with built-in programmable gain amplifier (PGA), internal reference, and onboard oscillator. The ADS1191/2 incorporate all the features typically required for portable, low-power medical ECG, sports, and fitness applications. With their high level of integration and exceptional performance, the ADS1191/2 series enable the creation of scalable medical instrumentation systems while significantly reducing size, power consumption, and overall cost. The ADS1191/2 provide a highly flexible input multiplexer per channel, which can be independently connected to internally generated signals for test, temperature, and continuous lead-off detection. In addition, various configurations of the input channels can be selected to generate the right leg drive (RLD) output signal. The ADS1191/2 operate at a maximum data rate of 8kSPS. Continuous lead-off detection is performed internally using the device's internal excitation current sink/source. The device is available in a 5mm×5mm, 32-pin thin quad flat package (TQFP). Rated operating temperature range: -40°C to +85°C.
