Introduction
The ADS1113, ADS1114, and ADS1115 devices (ADS111x) are 16-bit high-precision, low-power analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) compatible with I²C, available in ultra-small leadless X2QFN-10 and VSSOP-10 packages. The ADS111x devices feature a low-drift voltage reference and an oscillator. The ADS1114 and ADS1115 also incorporate a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and a digital comparator. These features, combined with a wide operating supply voltage range, make the ADS111x well-suited for sensor measurement applications with limited power and space. The ADS111x can perform conversions at data rates of up to 860 samples per second (SPS). The PGA offers an input range from ±256mV to ±6.144V, enabling accurate measurement of both large and small signals. The ADS1115 has an input multiplexer (MUX) that allows for two differential input measurements or four single-ended input measurements. The digital comparator in the ADS1114 and ADS1115 can be used for undervoltage and overvoltage detection. The ADS111x can operate in either continuous conversion mode or single-shot mode. In single-shot mode, these devices automatically power down after a single conversion, significantly reducing power consumption during idle periods.
