COS13487E and COS13488E are low-power differential bus/line transceivers with fault protection and hot-swap capability, designed for multipoint data transmission standards and RS-485 applications. They operate from a single 3.3 V to 5.0 V supply and also meet RS-422 requirements.

The COS13487E/COS13488E family features automatic direction control, where the driver input works in conjunction with the driver enable signal to drive the differential bus. This architecture makes these devices well suited for isolated RS-485 applications.

The COS13487E supports error-free transmission at up to 500 kbps. The COS13488E has an unlimited driver slew rate, allowing transmission speeds of up to 12 Mbps. These devices achieve significant power savings without compromising resistance to overload or ESD damage. They are available in 8-pin plastic SOP8, MSOP8, and DFN3x3-8 packages, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
