The SMBJ series is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients caused by lightning strikes and other transient voltage events.

• Suitable for surface mount applications to optimize board space
• Low dynamic resistance
• Typical failure mode is short circuit due to overvoltage or overcurrent
• IEC-61000-4-2 ESD 30 kV (air discharge), 30 kV (contact discharge)
• ESD protection for data lines per IEC 61000-4-2
• Whisker tested per Tables 4a and 4c of JEDEC JESD201A, passing Level 1 and Level 2
• VBR @ TJ = VBR @ 25
• Cx(1 + αTx(TJ - 25)) (αT: temperature coefficient, typical value 0.1%)
• UL recognized compound, meets V-0 flammability rating
• Matte tin lead-free plating
• Halogen-free and RoHS compliant
• Lead-free E3 indicates lead-free for Level 2 interconnect, terminal plating material is tin (Sn) (IPC/JEDEC J-STD-609A.01)
• UL 497B certified as an isolated loop circuit protector
