The TDES4940 is an enhanced V3Link video-to-DisplayPort (DP)/embedded DisplayPort (eDP) bridge device. This chipset, when used in conjunction with an enhanced V3Link video serializer, can provide a high-speed serialized interface via low-cost 50Ω coaxial cables or STP/STQ cables. The TDES4940 is a VESA DP v1.4a/eDP v1.4b compliant device, supporting advanced features such as HBR3 and SuperFrame formats. This device supports video resolutions of 4K with 30-bit color and higher. Enhanced V3Link video supports the transmission of video and audio data as well as full-duplex control, including I2C and GPIO data on the same link. The integration of video data and control of the enhanced V3Link video channel reduce the size and weight of the interconnection and simplify system design. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is minimized through the use of low-voltage differential signaling, data reordering, and random generation. In the compatible V3Link mode, this device supports a resolution of up to 2K and a color depth of 24 bits on single/double links, and it supports HDCP v1.4 when paired with an HDCP-compliant serializer.
