Introduction
The MAX811/812 are cost-effective system supervisory circuits designed to monitor the supply voltage in digital systems and assert a reset signal to the host processor when necessary. They provide a manual reset input as an alternative to reset supervisors, making them suitable for push-button reset applications. When the supply voltage falls below the reset threshold, the reset output asserts within 20μs; after the supply voltage rises back above the reset threshold, the reset signal remains asserted for a minimum of 140ms. The MAX812 features an active-high reset output, while the MAX811 features an active-low reset output. Both devices maintain valid output even when the supply voltage drops below 1.1V. Both devices are available in a 4-pin SOT-143 package and operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The design is optimized to suppress fast transient glitches on the power supply line.
Features
- High-accuracy supervisory circuit for monitoring 2.0V, 2.8V, 3.0V, 3.3V, and 5.0V rated supply voltages
- Manual reset input
- Minimum reset output pulse width of 140ms
- Reset output remains asserted with supply voltage as low as 1.1V
- Low supply current, 8μA typical
- Power supply transient rejection
- 4-pin SOT-143 package
- No external components required
- Pin-compatible replacement for MAX811/812 with additional lower threshold voltage options
- Push-pull reset output
- Operating temperature range: -40℃ to +85℃
