Introduction
The STEVAL-MKI231KA demonstration board is a kit consisting of a dedicated PCB mounted with the STHS34PF80 low-power, high-sensitivity infrared sensor for presence and motion detection, connected via flat cable to a universal adapter board (STEVAL-MKIGIBV5), making it compatible with the STEVAL-MKI109V3. A dedicated plastic holder with a Fresnel lens (TMOS63-10) is provided in the kit to verify device performance. The STEVAL-MKIGIBV5 can be inserted into a standard DIL 24 socket. The kit provides complete STHS34PF80 pin-out and comes with the necessary decoupling capacitors on the VDD supply line, ready to use out of the box. The adapter is supported by the STEVAL-MKI109V3 motherboard, which includes a 32-bit microcontroller acting as a bridge between the sensor and a PC, where customized applications can be developed using the downloadable GUI (Unico-GUI) or dedicated software routines. The board can also be inserted into the X-NUCLEO-IKS01A3, X-NUCLEO-IKS02A1, or X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1. The kit is included in the X-CUBE-MEMS1 expansion software package for STM32.
