Introduction
The ATL431 and ATL432 are three-pin adjustable shunt regulators that can meet the specified thermal stability within the applicable automotive, commercial, and industrial temperature ranges. Both regulators can set the output voltage to any value within the range from Vref (approximately 2.5V) to 36V through two external resistors. Their typical output impedance is 0.05Ω. The active output circuit of such devices has excellent conduction characteristics, making them an excellent alternative to Zener diodes in many applications, such as on-board regulators, adjustable power supplies, and switching power supplies. The cathode current range of the ATL43X has increased by more than 20 times compared to its previous generation product, the TL43X. In addition, the stability has also been improved, supporting a wider range of load capacitor types and values. The functions of the ATL431 and ATL432 are exactly the same, only the pin assignments and order numbers are different. The ATL43X is available in two grades, A and B, with initial tolerances of 1% and 0.5% respectively at 25°C. In addition, these two devices have low output temperature drift, ensuring excellent stability over the entire temperature range. The ATL43xxI devices are rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C; the ATL43xxQ devices are rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
