Introduction
The TPS2513A-Q1 and TPS2514A-Q1 are USB dedicated charging port (DCP) controllers used to charge most common mobile phones and tablets. An automatic detection feature monitors the USB data line voltage and automatically provides the correct electrical characteristics on the data lines to charge compatible devices in the following dedicated charging system configurations: 1. Voltage divider 3 mode, which requires applying 2.7V and 2.7V voltages to the D+ and D- lines respectively. 2. BC1.2 short-circuit mode, which requires short-circuiting the D+ line to the D- line. 3. 1.2V mode, which requires applying 1.2V voltage to the D+ and D- lines. Using the TPS2561A-Q1 with the TPS2513A-Q1 (dual-channel) and the TPS2557-Q1 with the TPS2514A-Q1 (single-channel) can provide a low-loss automotive-grade USB charging port solution that can charge all currently common mobile phones and tablets.
