Introduction
The TPS25940xx-Q1 electronic fuse power switch is a feature-rich, compact power management device with a comprehensive suite of protection functions. Its wide operating range enables control of many commonly used DC bus voltages. The device's integrated back-to-back FETs provide bidirectional current control, making it well-suited for preventing load-side stored energy in the system from flowing back into a faulted power bus.
Load, supply, and device protection are provided by numerous programmable features, including overcurrent, dV₀/dt slew rate, and overvoltage/undervoltage thresholds. For system status monitoring and downstream load control, the device offers PGOOD, FLT, and precision current monitor outputs. Accurate programmable undervoltage and overvoltage thresholds and modes simplify power management design.
The TPS25940xx-Q1 monitors V(IN) and V(OUT) to provide true reverse-current blocking when V(IN) < (V(OUT) – 66mV). This feature provides overvoltage protection support for the power bus during a battery short-circuit fault at the output.
