Introduction
TPS22916xx is a compact single-channel load switch that uses a low-leakage P-channel MOSFET to minimize power loss. The advanced gate control design supports operating voltages as low as 1V while further reducing on-resistance and power loss. Multiple timing options accommodate a variety of system load conditions. For high-capacitance loads, the slow turn-on timing of the C version minimizes inrush current. For low-capacitance loads, the fast timing of the B version reduces the required wait time. Switch conduction state is controlled by a digital input that connects directly to low-voltage control signals. The device is available in both active-high and active-low (L) versions. At initial power-up, the device uses a smart pull-down resistor to keep the ON pin from floating until system timing control is complete. Once the ON pin is intentionally driven high (≥VH), the smart pull-down resistor is disconnected, preventing unnecessary power loss. The TPS22916xx is offered in a space-saving 4-pin wafer chip-scale package (WCSP) (YFP) measuring 0.78mm × 0.78mm with 0.4mm pitch and 0.5mm height. The device operates over a temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.
