Introduction
The ADP7104 is a CMOS, low dropout linear regulator operating from a 3.3 V to 20 V supply with a maximum output current of 500 mA. This high input voltage LDO is designed for regulating 19 V to 1.22 V supplies in high performance analog and mixed-signal circuits. The device employs an advanced proprietary architecture to deliver high power supply rejection and low noise, requiring only a single 1 μF ceramic output capacitor to achieve excellent line and load transient response.
The ADP7104 offers 7 fixed output voltage options and an adjustable output version, which can be set from 1.22 V to VIN – VDO using an external feedback resistor divider. The ADP7104 output noise voltage is 15 μV rms and is independent of output voltage. These devices feature a power good digital output pin, allowing a power system monitor to verify that the output voltage is within specification. A user-programmable precision undervoltage lockout function facilitates sequencing control of multiple power supplies.
The ADP7104 is available in an 8-lead 3 mm × 3 mm LFCSP and an 8-lead SOIC package. The LFCSP provides an ultracompact solution with excellent thermal dissipation performance, meeting application requirements of up to 500 mA output current in small, low-profile board spaces.
