The TPS6229x devices are highly efficient synchronous step-down DC/DC converters optimized for battery-powered portable applications. These devices deliver up to 1000mA output current from a single lithium-ion cell. With an input voltage range of 2.3V to 6.0V, these devices support batteries with extended voltage ranges, making them ideal for powering portable applications such as mobile phones and other portable devices. The TPS6229x devices operate at a fixed switching frequency of 2.25MHz and enter power-save mode at light load currents to maintain high efficiency across the full load current range. Power-save mode is optimized for low output voltage ripple. For low-noise applications, the devices can be forced into fixed-frequency PWM mode by pulling the MODE pin high. In shutdown mode, current consumption is reduced to below 1μA. The TPS6229x devices allow the use of small inductors and capacitors, enabling a compact solution size. The TPS6229x devices are rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C in a natural convection environment. These devices are available in a 2mm×2mm 6-pin WSON package (DRV).
