Introduction
The INA185 current-sense amplifier is designed for cost-sensitive and space-constrained applications. This device is a bidirectional current-sense amplifier (also known as a current shunt monitor) that can sense the voltage drop across a current-sense resistor at common-mode voltages ranging from –0.2V to +26V, independent of the supply voltage. The INA185 integrates a matched resistor gain network with four fixed-gain device options: 20V/V, 50V/V, 100V/V, or 200V/V. This matched gain resistor network minimizes gain error and reduces temperature drift. The INA185 is powered by a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply. It consumes a maximum supply current of 260μA and has a high slew rate and bandwidth, making it an ideal choice for many power supply and motor control solutions. The INA185 is available in a 6-pin SOT-563 package with a footprint of only 2.56mm², including the device pins. All device options have an extended industrial temperature range of –40°C to +125°C.
