Introduction
The LMH5401 device is designed for radio frequency (RF), intermediate frequency (IF), or high-speed DC-coupled time-domain applications. This device is well-suited for both DC-coupled and AC-coupled applications. When operating in single-ended to differential (SE-DE) or differential to differential (DE-DE) modes, the LMH5401 generates very low second and third harmonic distortion. This amplifier is optimized for SE-DE and DE-DE systems. It features an ultra-high usable bandwidth from DC to 2 GHz.
The LMH5401 can be used for SE-DE conversion in the signal chain across a wide range of applications, such as test and measurement, broadband communications, and high-speed data acquisition, without the need for an external balun. The device provides a common-mode reference input pin to ensure that the amplifier output common mode meets the ADC input requirements.
The optional power supply voltage ranges from 3.3 V to 5 V, and dual power supplies can be supported according to application requirements. A power-down function is also available for energy savings. This level of performance is achieved when the device is powered by a 5-V supply and consumes an ultra-low power of 275 mW.
The device is fabricated using an advanced complementary BiCMOS process and comes in a space-saving UQFN-14 package for enhanced performance.
