Introduction
The MSP430F676x1A multi-phase metering SoC is a highly integrated and powerful solution for revenue meters. It can achieve accurate metering with few external components and low system cost. The MSP430F676x1A uses a low-power MSP430 CPU and a 32-bit multiplier to perform all energy calculations, enabling metering functions in various applications such as rate management and communication with AMR or AMI modules.
The MSP430F676x1A employs TI's 24-bit Σ - Δ converter technology with an accuracy better than 0.5%. Members of the product family include up to 128KB of flash memory, 8KB of RAM, and an LCD controller supporting up to 320 segments.
The ultra-low power consumption property of the MSP430F676x1A means that the system power supply can be minimized to reduce the overall cost. The lowest standby power means that the standby energy storage can be minimized, and critical data can be retained for a longer time in case of a main power failure.
The MSP430F676x1A series executes TI's energy measurement software library, which can calculate all relevant energy and power results. The energy measurement software library is provided free of charge with the MSP430F676x1A. Industrial standard development tools and hardware platforms can also be used to accelerate the development of meters compliant with all ANSI and IEC standards globally.
