Introduction
The OPAx863 devices are low-power, unity-gain stable, rail-to-rail input and output voltage-feedback op amps designed to operate over a supply range of 2.7 V to 12.6 V. Drawing only 700 μA per channel, the OPAx863 offers a gain-bandwidth product of 50 MHz, slew rate of 105 V/μs, and voltage noise density of 5.9 nV/√Hz.
The rail-to-rail input stage operates from a 2.7 V supply, making it suitable for portable battery-powered applications. The gain-bandwidth product and noise are well-matched across the full input common-mode voltage range of the rail-to-rail input stage, enabling excellent performance over a wide input dynamic range. The OPAx863 features a power-down (PD) mode with a maximum PD quiescent current (IQ) of 1.5 μA, and turn-on/turn-off times within 6.5 μs using a 3 V supply.
The OPAx863 incorporates overload power limiting to restrict the increase in IQ during output saturation, preventing excessive power dissipation in power-sensitive battery-powered systems. The output stage features short-circuit protection, making these devices suitable for harsh environments.
