Introduction
The latest addition to Abracon's ClearClock™ ultra-low RMS jitter oscillator family, now available in a miniature 2.5 x 2.0 x 1.0 mm package. The AK2 series is based on third-overtone quartz crystal technology, making it ideal for optical transceivers, networking, and server systems. The AK2 series supports 3.3V and 2.5V supply voltages for LVDS and LVPECL output configurations, and 3.3V, 2.5V, and 1.8V supply voltages for HCSL differential outputs. Standard production frequencies include 100, 125, 148.5, 156.25, and 200MHz, with frequency stability better than ±30 ppm over an operating temperature range of -40℃ to +85℃. The AK2 series achieves a typical RMS phase jitter of less than 110 fs at 156.25MHz carrier frequency with Vdd = +2.5V and LVDS output — best-in-class performance — and guarantees RMS jitter below 200 fs at 156.25MHz carrier frequency across all supply voltages and RF output configurations.
