Bourns' newly improved next-generation surface-mount 3-electrode GDT surge protection devices are designed using Bourns' proprietary advanced computer simulation technology and offer excellent maximum pulse voltage limitation specifications for this type of GDT. They come in a small, environmentally robust surface-mount package. The Bourns GDT35 series provides performance that helps significantly enhance protection against induced voltage transients such as lightning strikes and AC induction. Additionally, compared to current GDT designs in the same applications, the tighter voltage limitation levels provided during fast-rise events are intended to reduce stress on downstream components.
