Introduction
The CD4053B is a triple 2-to-1 analog multiplexer/demultiplexer with a common enable input. Each multiplexer has two independent inputs/outputs (Y₀ and Y₁), a common input/output (Z), and a select input (Sn). Each channel contains two bidirectional analog switches: one side connected to the independent input/output (Y₀ or Y₁), and the other side connected to the common input/output (Z). When E(overline) is low, one of the two switches is enabled (low-resistance ON state) by Sn. When E(overline) is high, all switches are in the high-resistance OFF state, independent of SA–SC. VDD and VSS are the supply voltages for the digital control inputs (SA–SC and E(overline)). The (VDD − VSS) range is 3–18V. The analog inputs/outputs (Y₀, Y₁, and Z) can swing between VDD (max) and VEE (min). For use as a digital multiplexer, VEE and VSS are connected together (typically to GND).
