Introduction
The AT24C256C is a 256 Kbit I²C-compatible serial EEPROM. The device is designed to operate across a supply voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V, with a maximum transfer rate of 1MHz. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +105°C. The device integrates a write protection pin for hardware write protection of the entire memory array.
The serial EEPROM is organized as 512 pages of 64 bytes each, totaling 32768×8 bits. The device provides users with an additional 64-byte identification page for storing sensitive application parameters. Once application data is written to the identification page, it can be permanently locked to read-only mode. The AT24C256C also features a separate memory block containing a factory-programmed 128-bit unique ID. This block operates in read-only mode and is accessible by issuing a specific read command.
The AT24C256C is available in lead-free green packages: DIP-8, TSSOP-8, SOP-8, MSOP-8.
