Introduction
AD7190 is a low-noise, complete analog front end designed for high-precision measurement applications, incorporating a low-noise, 24-bit Σ-Δ ADC. The on-chip low-noise programmable gain stage allows small signals to be applied directly to the input.
The device can be configured for two differential inputs or four pseudo-differential inputs. The on-chip channel sequencer can enable multiple channels, and the AD7190 performs conversions sequentially across all enabled channels, simplifying communication with the device. The on-chip 4.92MHz clock can serve as the ADC clock source; alternatively, an external clock or crystal can be used. The output data rate is programmable from 4.7Hz to 4.8kHz.
The device offers two digital filter options. The choice of filter affects RMS noise and noise-free resolution at the programmed output data rate, settling time, and 50Hz/60Hz rejection. For applications requiring settled output on every conversion, the AD7190 features a zero-latency option.
The device operates from a 5V analog supply and a 2.7V to 5.25V digital supply, with 6mA power consumption, and is available in a 24-lead TSSOP package.
