The ZILOG ZHX1203, designed for mobile phones, pagers, and PDAs, is the smallest, lowest-power, and most feature-rich transceiver in its class. Receive current consumption during communication is as low as 100 μA (typical). The ZHX1203MB features an ultra-low receive current consumption of only 100 μA (typical). Its ultra-slim form factor (7.3 mm L × 2.8 mm W × 1.9 mm H) allows placement in virtually any compact device. With only two external components required, the application circuit footprint is also minimized. The ZHX1203 is designed to support IrDA-Data SIR mode, operating at 115 Kbits/s, enabling users to share phone numbers, addresses, and notes, as well as connect a PC to the internet via mobile phone. The transceiver integrates an IRED emitter, photodiode, and a unique driver/control ASIC in a single package. The ZILOG ZHX1203 also features shutdown control, reducing typical current consumption to 0.1 μA.
