Introduction
The TPS3808 series of microprocessor supervision circuits can monitor system voltages from 0.4V to 5V. When the SENSE voltage drops below the preset threshold or the Manual Reset (MR) pin goes low, the open-drain RESET signal is asserted. When the SENSE voltage and Manual Reset (MR) return values exceed their respective thresholds, the RESET output remains low for a user-adjustable delay time. The TPS3808 devices use a precision voltage reference and can achieve a threshold accuracy of 0.5% when V_IT ≤ 3.3V. By disconnecting the C_T pin, the reset delay time can be set to 20ms. By connecting the C_T pin to V_DD using a resistor, the reset delay time can be set to 300ms. Or by connecting the C_T pin to an external capacitor, the user can adjust the reset delay time between 1.25ms and 10s. The TPS3808 devices feature an ultra-low typical quiescent current of 2.4 μA, making them ideal for battery-powered applications. They are available in SOT-23 and 2mm×2mm WSON packages and are rated for an operating temperature range of –40°C to 125°C (TJ).
