Introduction
The LM5175-Q1 is a synchronous four-switch buck-boost DC/DC controller capable of stabilizing the output voltage at a certain value equal to, higher than, or lower than the input voltage. The LM5175-Q1 can operate within a wide input voltage range of 3.5V to 42V (with a maximum of 60V), supporting various applications. The LM5175-Q1 employs current mode control in both buck and boost operating modes to provide excellent load and line regulation performance. The switching frequency can be programmed via an external resistor and synchronized with an external clock signal. The device also features a programmable soft-start function and offers various protection features such as cycle-by-cycle current limit, input under-voltage lockout (UVLO), output over-voltage protection (OVP), and thermal shutdown. In addition, the LM5175-Q1 has selectable continuous conduction mode (CCM) or discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), optional average input or output current limit, optional spread spectrum to reduce peak electromagnetic interference (EMI), and optional discontinuous mode protection for continuous overload conditions.
