Introduction
The SN74HC573 is an 8-bit D-type transparent latch with 3-state outputs. The device features latch enable (LE) and output enable (OE) inputs. When LE is high, input data enters the latches; in this state the latches are transparent, and the outputs change with each corresponding D input change. When LE is low, the latches store the information present at the inputs one setup time before the LE high-to-low transition. A high on the OE input forces the outputs into a high-impedance off state. Operation of the OE input does not affect the state of the latches. Inputs include clamp diodes, which allow the use of current-limiting resistors to interface inputs to voltages exceeding VCC.
