Introduction
The SN3257-Q1 is an automotive-grade CMOS switch supporting high-speed signals with low propagation delay. The SN3257-Q1 provides a 4-channel 2:1 (SPDT) switch configuration, making it ideal for per-channel protocols such as SPI and I2S. This device supports bidirectional analog and digital signals on the source (SxA, SxB) and drain (Dx) pins, and is capable of passing signals above the supply voltage (up to VDD x 2), with a maximum input and output voltage of 5.5V. The SN3257-Q1 features an active-low EN pin for simultaneously enabling and disabling all channels. When the EN pin is low, one of two switch paths is selected based on the state of the SEL pin. The SN3257-Q1's off-state protection up to 3.6V on the signal path provides isolation when the supply voltage is removed (VDD = 0V). Without this protection, the switch could back-power the supply rail through internal ESD diodes, potentially damaging the system. The failsafe logic circuit allows voltage to be applied to the logic control pins before the supply pin, protecting the device from potential damage. Both logic control inputs feature 1.8V logic-compatible thresholds, ensuring TTL and CMOS logic compatibility. Integrated pull-down resistors on the logic pins eliminate the need for external components, reducing system size and cost.
