Introduction
The ADS1283 is a high-performance single-chip analog-to-digital converter (ADC) equipped with an integrated low-noise programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and a dual-channel input multiplexer (MUX). This converter uses a fourth-order Δ-Σ modulator with inherent stability to achieve excellent anti-noise and linear performance. The digital output of the modulator is digitally filtered and decimated by an on-chip digital filter to generate the ADC conversion results. The input multiplexer can flexibly provide additional external inputs for measurement and internal self-test input connections. The PGA features excellent low noise (5nV/√Hz) and extremely high input impedance, facilitating easy connection to geophones and hydrophones with a wide gain range. The digital filter offers selectable data rates from 250SPS to 4000SPS. The high-pass filter (HPF) has an adjustable corner frequency. The on-chip gain and offset adjustment registers support system calibration. The sync input (SYNC) can be used to synchronize the conversions of multiple ADS1283 devices. The ADS1283 comes in a compact 24-lead 5×4 mm VQFN package, with a fully rated operating temperature from -40°C to +85°C and a maximum operating temperature range from -50°C to +125°C.
