Introduction
The SN74AXCH4T245 is a 4-bit non-inverting bus transceiver using two separately configurable power-supply rails. The device operates with VCCA and VCCB supply voltages as low as 0.65V. Port A tracks VCCA and supports any supply voltage in the range of 0.65V to 3.6V. Port B tracks VCCB and supports any supply voltage in the range of 0.65V to 3.6V. The SN74AXCH4T245 device is compatible with single-supply systems.
The SN74AXCH4T245 device is designed for asynchronous communication between data buses, transmitting data from the A bus to the B bus or from the B bus to the A bus, depending on the logic level of the direction control inputs (1DIR and 2DIR). The output enable inputs (1OE and 2OE) can be used to disable the outputs, effectively isolating the buses. All control pins (xDIR and xOE) are referenced to VCCA.
The active bus-hold circuit holds unused or undriven inputs at a valid logic state. The use of pullup or pulldown resistors with the bus-hold circuit is not recommended. If VCCA or VCCB is connected to a supply, the bus-hold circuit remains active on the A or B input ports, respectively, regardless of the state of the direction control or output enable pins.
To ensure the high-impedance state of the level-translator I/Os during power-up or power-down, the xOE pins should be connected to VCCA through a pullup resistor.
The device is fully suitable for partial power-down applications using Ioff current. When the device is powered down, the Ioff protection circuit ensures that no excess current is drawn from or supplied to any I/O or combination I/O biased to a specific voltage.
The VCC isolation feature ensures that when VCCA or VCCB falls below 100mV, all I/O ports disable their outputs and enter a high-impedance state.
Glitch-free power sequencing allows the supply rails to be powered on or off in any order, providing robust power-sequencing performance.
