Introduction
The TVS2201 device can shunt fault currents of up to 30A according to IEC 61000 - 4 - 5 to protect the system from high - power transient shocks or lightning strikes. This device can withstand an open - circuit voltage of 1kV according to IEC 61000 - 4 - 5 when coupled through a 42Ω impedance, meeting the common EMC requirements of industrial signal lines. The TVS2201 uses a feedback mechanism to ensure precise and smooth clamping capability during faults, keeping the system contact voltage always lower than that of traditional TVS diodes. Precise voltage regulation allows designers to confidently select system components with lower voltage tolerances, thereby reducing system cost and complexity without sacrificing reliability. The TVS2201 has an operating range of ±22V and can operate in systems that require protection against reverse wiring situations. In addition, the TVS2201 also uses a small SON package, suitable for space - constrained applications. Its size is significantly reduced compared to standard SMA and SMB packages. Low device leakage current and capacitance ensure that the impact on the protected lines is minimized.
