Introduction
The LDC1612 and LDC1614 are 2-channel and 4-channel 28-bit inductance digital converters (LDCs) respectively for inductive sensing solutions. With multiple channels and support for remote sensing, the LDC1612 and LDC1614 can achieve high-performance and reliable inductive sensing at extremely low cost and power consumption. These products are easy to use and only require the sensor frequency to be in the range of 1 kHz to 10 MHz to start working. Due to the wide supported sensor frequency range of 1 kHz to 10 MHz, they also support the use of very small PCB coils, further reducing the cost and size of the sensing solution. The high-resolution channels support a larger sensing range and can still maintain good performance beyond twice the coil diameter. Well-matched channels support differential and ratio measurements. Therefore, designers can use one channel to compensate for environmental and aging conditions during the sensing process, such as temperature, humidity, and mechanical drift. Thanks to features such as ease of use, low energy consumption, and low system cost, these products help designers significantly improve the performance, reliability, and flexibility of existing sensing solutions and introduce new sensing functions into products in all markets, especially consumer goods and industrial applications. These devices can be easily configured via the I2C interface. The dual-channel LDC1612 comes in a WSON-12 package, and the quad-channel LDC1614 comes in a WQFN-16 package.
