Introduction
The Candlestick Sensor (CS) is a rugged, base-and-stem design sensor for measuring air temperature and velocity in the thermal characterization of electronic systems. The sensor has a low profile that introduces minimal disturbance to the test area. It features a polyimide sleeve stem for easy installation and repositioning during test setup. The sensor is calibrated for both low-velocity (natural convection) and high-velocity airflow, capable of measuring air temperature from -10°C to +120°C ±1°C, with velocity measurement ranging from 0 to 50 m/s (10,000 LFM) ±2%, depending on the specific sensor model. Measuring both air temperature and velocity at the same location with a single sensor eliminates errors that can occur when airflow is non-isothermal. Multiple Candlestick Sensors can be easily installed to provide detailed mapping of system thermal and airflow conditions. Their rugged and flexible nature allows continuous repositioning of sensors within the test area.
