These direct-sensing thermostats are larger than Selco's standard thermostats, featuring more powerful bimetal discs and higher electrical ratings. They are ideally suited for heating and air conditioning systems as well as industrial equipment. These models are designed to maximize airflow around the thermostat sensing cap for fast and accurate response. The devices incorporate a bimetal thermosensitive disc for rapid contact switching. The bimetal disc is thermally and electrically isolated from the power circuit, eliminating self-heating effects. Only the temperature of the controlled device causes switch actuation. Due to the characteristics of the bimetal disc, switching action is quick and stable. Contact chatter, false cycling, and arcing are virtually eliminated. Options include exposed disc, single-action, and SPDT configurations. Custom manufacturing options are also available, including: bracket, conduit, and fitting mounting, lead termination, overmolding, and epoxy sealing.
