The popular 1N5283-1 through 1N5314-1 series 0.5-watt current regulators offer standard 10% tolerance selections ranging from 0.22 mA to 4.7 mA. These devices regulate current over a wide voltage range, serving as the counterpart to Zener diodes (which regulate voltage over a wide current range), and are available in similarly sized axial-lead packages. A slightly larger DO-7 package option provides dual-plug internal bond connections with a larger active die element, functioning as a unique current limiter. Microsemi also offers numerous other Zener products to address higher and lower power voltage regulation applications.
