Introduction
The AFBR-16xxZ transmitter uses a 650 nm LED light source with integrated optics and driver IC for efficient coupling to 1 mm polymer optical fiber. The AFBR-26x4Z/25x9Z receivers consist of an IC with an integrated photodiode that produces logic-compatible outputs. Transmitter inputs and receiver outputs are compatible with the TTL logic family. The paired devices operate at signal rates from DC to 50 Mbaud, with transmission distances up to 50 m using 1 mm POF, up to 200 m at 10 Mbaud and up to 120 m at 50 Mbaud using 200-μm plastic-clad silica fiber. The transmitter is a 3-pin device and the receiver is a 4-pin device, both housed in Versatile Link enclosures. Versatile Link components can be interlocked and stacked to save space and provide dual connections via duplex connectors. A variety of simplex and duplex connectors and POF cables are available. The AFBR-xxx4Z provides a non-inverting output signal, while the AFBR-xxx9Z provides an inverting output signal.
